# Gold'em Arena

## Texas Gold'em Arena Trading Contest

**Buy into the pot, paper trade (testnet USDC) like a pro and win massive real USD rewards!**

Welcome to the Texas Gold'em Arena, where the sharpest traders on Kash testnet battle it out for real USDC prizes. Prove your edge and take home a share of the pot!

From the live leaderboard for the current arena and buy your tickets at [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade), and check [goldem.trade](https://goldem.trade/) for the latest information on the active markets.

### How It Works

1. **Buy Tickets**\
$5 each. Every ticket you own gives you more “winning shares of the pot” if your trading performance ranks high enough.
2. **Trade on Kash**\
Compete on the official arena markets. Your ranking is determined by **cumulative net P\&L** (your total realized + unrealized profit/loss across all markets for that arena). Market are found at [goldem.trade](https://goldem.trade/) and leaderboard rankings are at [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade).
3. **Climb the Leaderboard**

Higher P\&L = better rank. The more markets within that Texas Gold'em series to trade (there are 6 markets per series), the more chances you have to increase your rank.
4. **Win Real USDC**

At the end of the arena, the top **20% of all tickets** (based on the rankings to the trader holding them) share the entire prize pot using a fair harmonic weighting system. Strong performance + more tickets = dramatically higher payouts.

### How to Participate

#### 1. Start Trading on Kash testnet (Free)

* Go to <https://testnet.kash.bot/> and sign up with your X account.
* You’ll instantly receive **10,000 testnet USDC** to practice with.
  * At the end of each week, if you have less than $10k testnet USDC your balance will be topped-up back to $10k.
* Full platform guides and strategies: <https://docs.kash.bot/>.

Kash is a prediction market platform where you trade on real-world outcomes (sports, news, crypto, etc.). It’s fast, fun, and the perfect training ground for the Gold’em Arena. Using Kash now is good practice for when they launch on mainnet in the coming weeks.

#### 2. Buy Your Tickets ($5 each)

* Visit [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade)
* You may purchase up to a maximum of 100 tickets before the final Texas Gold'em match in the current Texas Gold'em series begins.
* Only 1 ticket is necessary to qualify for large payouts, multiple tickets increases your risk/reward.

<details>

You'll need a Base Network Wallet to collect winnings

All winnings are paid automatically in **USDC on the Base network** (an Ethereum Layer-2 with very low fees) within 3 business days following the end of an arena event.

You provide your wallet address during checkout while purchasing tickets at [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade).

**Quick start:**

* Download MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet (both free).
* You may need to [connect your wallet to Base Network](https://docs.base.org/base-chain/quickstart/connecting-to-base#using-base-with-your-wallet).
* You don't need to do anything to collect winnings, but to transfer USDC from winnings out of your wallet you’ll need a tiny amount of ETH on Base for gas (usually <$0.01). You can get this at any crypto exchange.

### Prize Pot & Distribution (Top 20% of Tickets)

**Prize Pot** = $500 initial bonus + ($5 × total tickets sold)

**Example:** 200 tickets sold → Pot = $500 + $1,000 = **$1,500**

**All you need is 1 ticket to have a chance for a huge ROI, but with multiple tickets you have the shot at an even bigger share of the pot!**

The prize pot is split among the **top 20% of all tickets sold** (not the top 20% of traders). This system rewards strong trading performance while giving every ticket holder, even those with just one ticket, a real shot at meaningful winnings.

Traders can buy a **maximum of 100 tickets total**. Ticket sales close just before the final Texas Gold'em Poker match of the arena begins.

#### Prize Distribution Example

**Scenario:** 9 other traders each hold 10 tickets (90 tickets total) + the standard $500 initial bonus.

| Your Rank |
1 Ticket
Net P\&L (ROI)
|
10 Tickets
Net P\&L (ROI)
|
50 Tickets
Net P\&L (ROI)
|
100 Tickets
Net P\&L (ROI)
|
| --------- | --------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| #1 | +$268 (+5,360%) | +$764 (+1,528%) | +$950 (+380%) | +$950 (+190%) |
| #3 | +$86 (+1,720%) | +$396 (+792%) | +$492 (+197%) | +$436 (+87%) |
| #5 | +$50 (+1,000%) | +$275 (+550%) | +$313 (+125%) | +$236 (+47%) |
| #8 | +$29 (+580%) | +$185 (+370%) | +$158 (+63%) | +$61 (+12%) |
| #10 | +$22 (+440%) | +$150 (+300%) | +$86 (+34%) | -$20 (-4%) |

**Key takeaways**:

* Even a single well-placed ticket can deliver massive ROI.
* Owning more tickets can increase rewards up to a point, but whales cannot buy the pot.

#### Projected Winnings Calculator

We've built a useful tool you can find at the top of [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade) to help you calculate how a ticket purchase would effect your projected winnings (based off current rankings and ticket sales).

### Important Notes

* One active Gold'em Arena runs at a time.
* Ticket sales close on the published end date (usually Saturday 16:00 UTC). After that, you'll need to wait until the next arena begins.
* All Texas Gold'em markets for the current series must resolve before final rankings and payouts are calculated.
* Payouts are sent automatically in USDC on Base to your linked wallet within 3 business days of arena finalization.
* All applicable terms, disclaimers, and rules published at [arena.goldem.trade](https://arena.goldem.trade) apply. Trade responsibly and only buy tickets using funds you can afford to lose.

### FAQ

**Do I need crypto experience?**\
No. Kash is beginner-friendly. Just log in with X! Upon registration your account is automatically funded with 10,000 testnet USDC. At the end of each week, if you have less than $10k testnet USDC your balance will be topped-up back to $10k.

**What if my P\&L is negative but I own tickets?**\
All ticket sales are final, no refunds. You only qualify for winnings if your cumulative P\&L ranks high enough to be in the top 20% of tickets at the end of the Arena. Keep on trading to bring that P\&L up as much as you can before the Arena ends!

That said, you are only competing against other ticket holders and technically a positive P\&L isn't necessary so long as you still hold tickets that rank in the top 20%. If a lot of other traders with tickets (or a few traders holding large amounts of tickets) also have negative P\&L, it's possible to get winnings with negative P\&L (though highly unlikely).

**Can I buy more tickets after I’ve already bought some?**\
Yes, as long as ticket sales are still open. Use the Calculator on the leaderboard page to instantly see exactly how many extra tickets you should buy for the best projected return.

**When do I receive my winnings?**\
Automatic USDC payout to your Base wallet within 3 business days after the arena finalizes. Follow [@doppelgamesco](https://x.com/doppelgamesco) on X for official announcements.

**Is this gambling?**\
No, it’s a skill-based trading contest on prediction markets. Your edge in forecasting Texas Gold'em Poker outcomes directly impacts your ranking and payout. There is also no one taking any rake or making any profit from hosting the competition, it's being proved as a promotional incentive leading up to mainnet prediction market trading.

May the best trader win!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
